12V Premium Warm White (3000k) COB LED Strip (360 LED / 8w / 717lms per meter)

SmartLight premium quality Warm White seamless COB LED strip light with a self-adhesive 3M backing.

The 12V tape uses a maximum of 8W/m of power to produce a brightness of 717 lumens/m and can be dimmed (using an appropriate dimmable driver) to create effective mood lighting. The uses are endless, from furniture to kitchen cabinets to lighting signs to accent lighting.

The tape comes complete with a DC connector than can be used with a power supply if required, otherwise the tape can be wired directly in to a driver or any other appropriate 12V DC power source. It can be cut every 25 mm and is flexible enough to have a minimum bend diameter of only 30 mm.

The IP20 rating allows the strip to handled by hand and a resistance to dust or objects over 12 mm in size. If used in environments where the strip is likely to be exposed to liquids or moisture then adequate protection should be used to house the strip in.

Installing Your COB Strip Lights
COB strip lights are fairly straightforward to install. IP20 and IP65 tapes come with a strong 3M adhesive backing that will stick to most surfaces but not all - some surfaces like polyethylene or PVC or concrete are especially hard to adhere to. Cardboard can also pose a challenge sometimes as it is usually made from recycled material, which tends to have many small fibers on the surface that break away very easily. When installing, please ensure the surface is flat, smooth, clean and not too hot or too cold.

IP67 and IP68 tapes do not come with an adhesive backing as they are designed for use in situations where there is likely to be exposure to moisture or water, which would degrade the adhesive. The tape should be fixed in to place using clamps or a silicone sealant-type adhesive, or fixed using aluminium profiles. 

Complete Your COB Strip Light Setup
For the very simplest install, the COB strips can just be wired directly in to an appropriate 12V DC supply or driver. However you may want to dim the lights or create visual dynamic effects, or to control them with a remote control, in which case an appropriate driver and power supply will be required. We stock a large range of controllers and drivers to suit almost any requirement.

When choosing a power supply or a driver, we recommend that the strip load is 10% less than the maximum load of the driver as this extends the power supplies life by helping it manage heat better. If the strips are to be used in a commercial environment or will be switched on continuously for an extended period of time on a regular basis then we recommend using a commercial power supply as these are designed for heavy duty use.
